Basic Course: An Introduction to Embroidery

This is a BASIC embroidery course with an emphasis on stitches and techniques - no experience is required. It introduces students to a wide variety of techniques and their historical context.
Class attendance is from 9.30am to 3.15pm on the first Saturday of each month during term, with a 45 minute break for lunch, library time and shopping at the Threaded Needle.

Students will be required to develop a resource folder that includes:
- an introduction and history of each technique
- examination of the fabric and threads used for each technique
- a series of worked samplers, devised by the tutor to give an understanding of each technique
