Intermediate Historical & Contemporary Embroidery

Attendance One five-hour day per month during term
Fees $1,000 payable in advance

Course Outline
This intermediate level embroidery course enables students to further develop skills in stitching techniques and to use them in innovative ways.  It will also further their knowledge and appreciation of the history of embroidery and increase their knowledge and experience in the use of colour and design.

This course is intended to be a creative journey. Students will explore a wide variety of media and develop processes that allow them to become capable of expressing their own ideas.

A graded Certificate of Completion (Pass, Merit or Distinction) will be awarded to students who successfully complete the course.  A Room Exhibition of students' work will be organised for the year following course completion.

Enrolment
To be accepted into this course, applicants must have successfully completed the Guild's Basic Embroidery course or its equivalent.  Applicants may be required to submit a portfolio of work (including 3 recently completed works, samplers, visual diaries and any other relevant documentation), which clearly demonstrates their ability to proceed to an intermediate level of work.

This course is only open to members of the Guild. Financial membership of the Guild throughout the full term of the course is a pre-requisite for enrolment.
