This bag is made from 4 men's-style neck ties in Dupion silk and decorated with motifs, such as paisleys, florals and butterflies. The embroidered ties are made by fusing the fabric to Vleisofix for extra support and then stitching them together, alternating with 4 narrow black silk tie pieces.

An array of interesting and unusual stitches outline and infill the patterns. Beads can be added as you stitch, creating a gorgeous texture.

Using your own fabric and threads, you are encouraged to concentrate on producing samples for reference and learning, rather than trying to achieve a finished item.

You can learn about stitches and colour combinations to create the Gypsy bag,
or use the class to add to your expertise for creating your own designs.

Suitable for all skill levels

Comprehensive notes and colour copies with be available for a fee.
