Cutwork is a very effective whitework embroidery technique which is created by cutting areas of the ground away and revealing the design that has been embroidered. Whitework garment designs are very much on trend at present and this panel has been designed for use in an item of clothing.

This Art Deco inspired cutwork panel can be used as an insert for a blouse, singlet top or nightie, for example. The design could also be adapted to any traditional use.

This technique is created using a very few easy to work stitches so would be suitable for any one new to whitework embroidery.

Worked on closely woven white linen, this design could also be stitched in coloured fabric and thread
