The “Miniature Whitework Sampler” that I taught in 2014 has been very popular and students have asked me to design a similar project using drawn thread techniques.

So this beautifully lace-like little sampler is worked on 32-count scrim linen fabric with Broder cotton and Au Ver à Soie 100/3 silk thread. Its finished size is  approximately 15.5 cm x 27cm.  Alison will bring the scrim linen tacked and prepared for students attending the workshop.

It comprises a number of drawn thread techniques and patterns and is a perfect pair to the 2014 project or a good stand-alone embroidery for students wishing to expand their knowledge of drawn thread techniques. This is a new project it is a combination of bands, spots corners and a traditional square cornered sampler worked in drawn thread embroidery.

Skill Level: Suitable for intermediate to advanced students with  experience of counted thread embroidery
