In this course every stitching module requires the students to create their own designs, and be experimental with materials and techniques

It is one of the elective stitching modules in this course, and with all these modules the students will:

  • present a case study on a particular specialty in Whitework embroidery in the 2nd class;
  • experiment with materials, threads and techniques in samples during the module; and
  • create a design from primary and/or secondary sources for a stitched work for assessment. One month is given to do this stitched work. The   design process is also handed in for assessment.

Helen has had a few years teaching and working with the Fine Needlework Group at the Guild. She is highly skilled in traditional fine needlework and in the last few years has been exploring contemporary Whitework.  Techniques will be demonstrated in the module and students will be guided through their experimental work over the 3 classes.

Bookings will close Thursday 12 April (capped at 10 places).
