Lismore and District Junior Stitchers

Recently the adult members of the Lismore & Districts Group of Embroiderers' Guild NSW celebrated their Christmas party and not long after it was the group's Junior Stitchers turn to celebrate theirs.

Junior Stitchers are sponsored by the NSW Embroiderers' Guild with course leaders drawn from the local Lismore Branch.
The Guild recognises that very little formal needlecraft is taught in schools today so members of the Junior Stitchers are exposed to needle and fibre arts.
They make fun things, discover textiles and learn about fibre while experimenting with colour and stitches.
The emphasis is decidedly on creativity and fun rather than formal technique and members receive support with materials from local textile artist Robyn Alexander of ColourStreams in Mullumbimby. Members range in age from 5 to 16.
