Background
Effie has always been fascinated with stitches and colour. She was inspired to make a rich and colourful, light-weight, bilingual, concertina stitch book to take to Italy, which is one of the examples to be used in her workshop at the summer school titled A Concertina Stitch Book.

Linen embroidery is another love where traditional techniques are explored and used in creative ways. Effie has created Drawn Thread Motifs, a workshop which teaches the techniques of traditional drawn thread as well as innovative ways to embellish the windows, finish the edges and make them into decorative articles.

Effie has recently been commissioned by Stitch magazine, U.K., to create three articles for the magazine using all the above techniques.

Books currently available are Casalguidi Style Linen Embroidery, Kangaroo Press 1996; Needleweaving and Embroidery - Embellished Treasures, Sally Milner Publishing, 2005, and Threadwork - Silks, stitches, beads and cords, Sally Milner Publishing, 2009.
