Background

Alison has been a professional embroiderer for over thirty-three years.  During that time she has taught workshops all over Australia, New Zealand and in the United Kingdom.  In 1981 she was awarded a Proficiency Certificate with Distinction in Counted Thread embroidery by the Embroiderers’ Guild of New South Wales.  She has published seven books and numerous magazine articles.  She has also executed a number of commissions for a wide variety of organisations including advertising agencies, churches and cathedrals and many private clients.

Her special techniques are Indian embroidery and Greek embroidery but she has workshops in a very wide variety of other techniques as well.  She is always adding new projects to her teaching repertoire.

She lives in Oberon in the Central West of New South Wales and is always willing to travel to teach classes and/or conduct lectures.
