Lyall says, colouring for me is for a purpose - to colour fabric and then embroider on the outlines, or beside the design, or to colourwash the background. It is time to hunt for your Inktense (or watercolour) pencils, hiding in a cupboard waiting to be re-discovered. Learn how easy it is to increase or decrease the intensity of the colour in a design you would like to embroider. The aim of this Inktense Pencil (or Watercolour Pencil) Colouring Course is to learn how versatile Inktense Pencils are and work on a project of your choice during the year. Come along once a month to our beautiful new classroom at Guild Headquarters.

Topics:

  • Learn about new tools and equipment that can be used to colour and embroider on different fabrics
  • Make a Colour Chart
  • How to shade areas
  • Embroider the outline of the design by hand or machine
  • Colourwash backgrounds
  • 3 Dimensional elements
  • Work with substances to produce texture
