Do I have to become a member to attend a class, workshop or course?

NO, non members can attend classes but you will have to pay more and priority is given to members if the class is full. Why not check out our Member Benefits 

Do you have a lending library?

Yes. Our library contains over 5,500 books, some being rare and out of publication. Members can borrow 3 books for one month at a time.

Do you have Correspondence Courses or Distance Learning?

Yes. There are a number of correspondence courses or distance learning courses offered. Check out our Education section for more details.

Do you have Online Learning?

What a great idea! We do not at the moment but watch this space we hope to bring this feature to you soon.

Do you take EFTPOS and Credit Cards?

Yes, you can pay online by credit card (Visa, MasterCard) for new memberships (Join Us).
You can pay over the phone (02 9743 2501) by credit card (Visa, MasterCard) for courses, classes, workshops, books, threads, material in fact for any purchase at all.
We are happy to take cheques, money orders and cash.
We take EFTPOS + all of the above, at the Guild premises. For more information click About Us

How to clean embroidery?

This depends on many issues:
How old is the item? What type of material? Why is it dirty? etc
If the item is sentimental or precious then contact a recognised restorer or authority like the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney - Ph: (612) 9217 0100 - who can give the correct advice or even do the cleaning or restoration for you.

Is there a basic or learners course?

What are your Opening Hours?

Opening hours at the Guild Headquarters at Concord West (in Sydney Metropolitan area) are from Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm. We are not officially open on the weekends but often there is a Group or Class running on Saturday and/or Sunday, if you wish to visit on the weekend please phone the Secretary on 02 9743 2501.

What products do you offer?

At Guild Headquarters in Concord West you can purchase all your embroidery supplies: books,threads,materials, beads, embroidery frames etc.

Wheelchair access?

Our building at 76 Queen St, Concord West NSW is fully accessible. Access from street level, lift to all floors, accessible toilets.

Where can I park at the Guild?

Monday to Friday (and Saturday morning) - in front of the headquarters building there are 1hr and 2hr parking restrictions which are closely monitored. A short distance from the Guild is street parking with no restrictions. For more information click About Us

Who is on your management or committee team?

The Guild is mostly run by volunteers . The Management Committee structure is: 

  • President
  • 2 Vice Presidents
  • up to 10 Committee Members

The Committee meets once a month.
