Margaret Oppen Competition Information
The Margaret Oppen Prize was initiated in the 1970s to foster the achievement of excellence in original embroidery design and technique. Margaret Oppen was one of the founders of the Embroiderers Guild and was a driving force in promoting modern approaches to embroidery in NSW. She always encouraged individuals to express themselves by producing their own designs and adopting an experimental approach, while respecting and maintaining their traditions.
Entries with the theme "MY WORLD" are invited for the 2021 Margaret Oppen Prize.

First prize in each category will be $500. Highly Commended certificates may be awarded at the judges' discretion.
The winners will be announced on Friday 8 October 2021 and will be exhibited in our gallery at 76 Queen Street Concord West until the end of October.
