Margaret Oppen Competition Information

The Margaret Oppen Prize was initiated in the 1970s to foster the achievement of excellence in original embroidery design and technique. Margaret Oppen was one of the founders of the Embroiderers Guild and was a driving force in promoting modern approaches to embroidery in NSW.  She always encouraged individuals to express themselves by producing their own designs and adopting an experimental approach, while respecting and maintaining their traditions.
